Our DIY Easter Bunny Trail is a creative, interactive, and community-focused trail designed to engage local schools, families, and businesses. We think that Easter and arts and crafts go hand in hand, combining the 2 into the popular trail format led to a brand new and innovative trail that brought Skipton together over the Easter period.
Our client, Skipton BID, sought a unique way to boost footfall and community engagement during the Easter holidays. They wanted an event capable of uniting schools, families, and local businesses whilst creating a buzz across the high street. The concept needed to be easy to implement, visually appealing, and interactive to draw in its own audience.
We introduced the DIY Easter Bunny Trail, an events solution tailored to achieve the BID’s goals of community engagement and awareness. Here’s how it worked:
Kits Delivered to Schools: We delivered the trail characters to each chosen school, along with a craft supply kit, including everything pupils could need to decorate their bunnies.
Seamless Logistics: Once decorated, the pupils could also name their bunnies – these names were fed back to our design team and printed to make signage for the trail. Our team collected each bunny from the schools and delivered them to their designated trail spots throughout Skipton’s high street, ready for the trail to take place.
Interactive Trail Experience: Children and their families explored the high street with a custom trail leaflet in hand, optimistic to find the bunny they took part in making.
The trail delivered an outstanding outcome that raised awareness of the BID’s contributions to the town and how their presence benefits the community:
Increased BID Awareness: The event reinforced the BID’s role as a campion for the town centre by showcasing the ability to create meaningful and community focused events.
Boosted Footfall: The trail attracted over 500 families to the Skipton high street during the Easter half-term, resulting in an uplift on foot traffic compared to previous years.
Community Engagement: Over 500 children from 10 schools around the area participated in the trail, that’s a lot of additional families creating traffic in the high street!
“Having worked with Odin events many times it was an obvious choice to work with them to deliver our Easter event. They understand the restrictions we have as a small town and make sure they support us to ensure events will work for us. The Easter Bunny Trail was recommended and it was a huge success that built relationships between the BID, businesses and the local schools. One of our objectives is to raise awareness of the BID with local residents and this was the perfect project. The whole delivery and installation went smoothly and the team are always friendly and exceptionally helpful. We highly recommend Odin Events!” – Sarah, Skipton BID
The success of the Easter Bunny Trail demonstrates its potential as a repeatable event for raising BID awareness and engagement. By promoting creativity and community, this town centre trail can help BIDs across the country showcase their essential roles in revitalising town centres.
