North Pole Post Office

We were tasked with transforming a vacant retail unit into a magical Christmas experience for shoppers to enjoy. The client wanted something different to a Santa Grotto, as they had done these in previous years. The client’s main aim was to create something unique and interesting, to compete with surrounding rivals.

This is where we imagined and created the North Pole Post Office. The concept was new and exciting for the area, and was an activity that children could come in and enjoy in the lead up to Christmas. Children could drop-in, fill out a letter for Santa and post it to the North Pole using the talking postbox.

The unit was completely transformed overnight by our event team, using an array of Christmas props and theming elements to make the space unrecognisable from the inside and out. With several graphics, animatronic props and interactive elements, the space had everything needed to create an enjoyable Christmas experience for families.

When planning the install, we had to take some of the unit’s features into account.The unit had a concrete support beam in the centre of the unit, which we incorporated into the theming, creating and applying bespoke vinyls to tie them in with the rest of the decor, planning the functional space to work around this. The exterior of the unit was made from glass panels

What’s great about the North Pole Post Office is that the magic didn’t stop when families stepped outside of the unit - the grown-ups were subtly handed a response from Father Christmas on the way out, unbeknown to the children, to be handed to them at home a couple of days later.

The event was a great success for the client, with over 800 letters being made and posted on site, far exceeding the client’s expectations.
